Drosophila suzukii

also known as the Spotted wing Drosophila,  lays eggs on soft skinned fruit and is a major pest of horticulture in many parts of the country. It is not in Australia yet.

M.Sc. student Pontus Leblanc is characterizing insecticide resistance genes in this species.
